Peraton is hiring a Technical Writer to develop a range of user-facing documentation, from how-to guides and manuals to references and cheat sheets. In this role, you will be instrumental in translating complex technical and scientific information into accessible, user-friendly content.

What You'll Do

Create and write various types of user documentation, including how-to guides, references, manuals, cheat sheets, and instructions.
Explain scientific and technical ideas in simple, clear language.
Work with customers to translate their functional requirements into detailed technical specifications.
Ensure new and existing publications follow established documentation procedures.
Lead internal process documentation efforts.
Evaluate existing publications for quality, relevancy, and accuracy.
Create documents from technical information provided by technical staff and ensure documents produced by technical staff are consistent with formats and standards.

What We're Looking For

Minimum 8 years of experience with a BS/BA, Minimum 6 years with an MS/MA, or Minimum 3 years with a PhD.
Current TS/SCI with Poly clearance.
Proven ability to distill complex information into clear, concise text.
Demonstrated excellent writing and grammar skills and the ability to work independently and deliver accurate content under deadline pressure.
Proven experience designing and delivering developer-oriented documentation as well as working directly with development teams.
Experience using multiple tools to develop base templates and manipulate output styles.
A thorough understanding of software development (SDLC), IC ITE, the Risk Management Framework (RMF), and other key contract terminology.
