Peraton is hiring a Technical Writer to join the Telecom team supporting the Federal Aviation Administration's Brand New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS). In this role, you will translate complex technical systems into clear, actionable documentation critical for system integration, deployment, and operations across the National Airspace System.
What You'll Do
- Document the integration of diverse telecommunications technologies — including radio, fiber, and cloud — into cohesive, operational systems.
- Develop and execute test documentation, support troubleshooting efforts, and verify that system interfaces meet functional and performance requirements.
- Create clear documentation supporting the installation, configuration, and upgrade of hardware, software, and network components.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive system design, installation, and operational manuals to support engineering, operations, and stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Public Trust clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years in mid-to-senior integration roles, with demonstrated success leading end-to-end system integration efforts from requirements through deployment.
- Strong experience with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), enterprise service buses, and middleware platforms such as MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, or Apache Kafka.
- Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, VPNs, and firewalls, along with modern security standards including OAuth, SAML, and PKI.
- Hands-on experience with cloud networking in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, plus containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in Python, Bash, or Java to automate workflows and integrate complex systems.
- Strong Linux/Unix skills, including command-line operations, logging, shell scripting, and storage solutions (NAS/SAN).

Benefits & Compensation
- Salary range: $86,000 - $138,000
