Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine IT is hiring a Technical Support Specialist I. This role provides front-facing, Tier 1 desktop support for operating systems, software, hardware, and networking in a high-volume call center environment. You will act as the primary liaison for desktop-related issues and collaborate with senior technical staff to resolve problems.
What You'll Do
- Provide daily support for desktop computing, including operating systems, software installation/maintenance, and hardware.
- Respond to and manage assigned support tickets.
- Evaluate, prioritize, and resolve problems and requests, escalating to appropriate support areas when needed.
- Act as the front-facing support liaison for all desktop-related issues.
- Create and maintain support documentation for Tier 1 processes.
- Collaborate with higher-level technical teams on planning and issue resolution.
- Prioritize your workload to effectively respond to customer needs and demands.
- Serve as a liaison between customers and senior technical staff.
- Complete project-related tasks for the desktop support environment, such as system upgrades, integration, and administration.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent high school certification, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- 2+ years of experience providing Desktop Support in an Enterprise Environment.
Nice to Have
- Associate degree.
- Skills in accountability, computer support, computing platform support, customer service, office productivity software, oral and written communications, prioritization, procedural documentation, system administration, systems integration, and system upgrades.

- Compensation: $23.37 - $36.19 per hour.
