The Huntington National Bank is hiring a Technical Specialist Back-end Tech Lead to drive analytics activation through cloud-native application practices and modern data approaches. You will be a key technical leader on a product team, leveraging your strong back-end development and cloud engineering skills.
What You'll Do
- Analyze, design, and develop systems based on user specifications.
- Provide technical assistance in solving hardware or software problems.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of technical tools for systems development and support.
- Maintain knowledge of technical industry trends as they apply to the bank.
- May assist with training less experienced staff.
- May serve as project leader for specific initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 5+ years of development experience using Java to build API-enabled apps and event-driven architecture.
- Ability to write SQL queries and stored procedures, with knowledge of databases like Oracle and Snowflake.
- 2+ years of production support, infrastructure engineering, or administration experience.
- Experience with or good working knowledge of DevSecOps; Kubernetes or other container-based technologies and deployment pipelines.
- A learning mindset with openness to new technologies, building, and experimentation.
- Experience working on product teams with awareness of agile practices.
Nice to Have
- Experience with marketing applications or an integration background.
- Previous Architecture or tech lead experience.
- Deep knowledge of microservices patterns, and the Spring framework including Spring Boot and batch.
- Ability to balance both development and support roles.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with excellent communication.
- Strong interpersonal skills, a focus on customer service, and the ability to work well with IT, vendor, and business groups.
- Certifications like cloud architect, engineer, or developer are strongly preferred.
