Florida Power & Light Company / NextEra Energy is hiring a Technical Services Leader to guide a team of technical specialists or engineers. In this role, you will make decisions and recommendations that impact extensive Technical Services activities, providing leadership and guidance for developing production-ready software solutions that support the Power Generation division.
What You'll Do
- Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance for developing production-ready software solutions.
- Focus on software for workflow automation, integration with existing platforms, and ad-hoc rapid application solutions.
- Manage direct reports who write software in various programming languages.
- Oversee on-premises server patching, maintenance, and application health monitoring.
- Support team productivity by directing work assignments for the lowest time to value.
- Track team productivity with project managers to allocate work across team members.
- Provide leadership guidance, tools, and coaching to ensure team productivity and alignment.
- Interface extensively with multiple teams across PGD to coordinate work and projects.
- Initiate and maintain extensive contacts with key staff and officials of other organizations.
- Use skills in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues.
- Apply creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in solving unprecedented engineering complexities.
- Determine and organize program and project objectives and requirements.
- Develop standards and guidelines for diverse technical and engineering activities.
