As a Senior Engineer I, you'll play a central role in transforming early product concepts into functional, scalable solutions. Working hand-in-hand with product and design leaders, you'll leverage modern development practices to deliver high-impact features that meet evolving user needs.
What You'll Do
- Build and refine prototypes quickly, turning vision into working software in an agile, collaborative setting.
- Design and maintain robust applications using Angular, TypeScript, C#, and .NET, with a focus on clean, efficient code.
- Deliver features within the existing architecture while identifying paths to improve speed, scalability, and AI integration.
- Ensure quality through rigorous testing—unit, integration, and performance—without sacrificing pace.
- Collaborate across disciplines to bring early-stage ideas to life, from concept to deployment.
- Participate in AI-driven code reviews, sharing insights on prompt strategies and code improvements.
- Respond to technical challenges, supporting resolution from prototype issues to production incidents.
What We Need
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least five years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Proven expertise in C# and .NET, ideally .NET 7, along with Angular and TypeScript.
- Experience with SQL Server, Web API integrations, and Microsoft Azure.
- Familiarity with Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, Jira, and Azure DevOps.
- Understanding of security standards including OWASP and ISO27001.
- Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-moving environment.
- Legal right to work in New Zealand and ability to work from Christchurch.
Nice to Have
- Experience using AI tools like Copilot or ChatGPT in development, with a critical eye on output quality.
- Background in innovation teams or AI-focused initiatives.
- Exposure to Excel integrations, mathematical programming, or Salesforce.
- Interest in improving developer experience or working with AI platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or HuggingFace.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role based in Christchurch, combining in-office collaboration with flexible remote work through an Activity-Based Work model.
