TMEIC Corporation Americas is hiring a Technical Services Field Engineer - Variable Frequency Drives & Motors to provide specialized engineering expertise and service for our industrial drive systems. You will act as the factory expert for our VFD products, resolving critical on-site issues and ensuring client equipment reliability.
What You'll Do
- Advise clients and internal engineers as the factory expert to resolve complex on-site VFD and motor issues
- Provide remote technical support using diagnostic tools when not in the field
- Perform preventative maintenance and analyze equipment failures at client sites
- Troubleshoot, isolate issues, and repair or replace defective components
- Implement corrective actions from Field Change Notices and commission new VFD installations
- Report hardware, software, or design deficiencies discovered in the field to the factory
- Update the client relationship management (CRM) tool with accurate case information
- Draft and issue Service Advices and submit detailed field service reports to clients
- Respond to client issues, including after regular business hours on an assigned schedule
- Train client personnel on system maintenance and operation procedures
- Identify and recommend additional value-add products and services through proactive client engagement
- Acquire and maintain current safety qualifications and comply with all Company and client safety requirements
What We're Looking For
- Expert-level knowledge in troubleshooting, maintaining, and commissioning Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and industrial motors
- Proven experience performing on-site diagnostic, repair, and field service work
- Ability to analyze system failures using remote diagnostics tools
- Strong technical writing skills for creating field service reports and service advisories
- Experience configuring equipment and training client personnel
- Commitment to safety protocols and qualifications relevant to industrial field service
- Willingness to respond to client issues outside of standard business hours
- Excellent communication skills for advising clients and collaborating with engineering teams
