Rubrik is hiring a Technical Research Engineer to ensure our products maintain their market leadership. You will be responsible for analyzing competitive solutions to provide precise and timely intelligence used by sales, marketing, product, and engineering teams.
What You'll Do
- Perform ongoing competitive research and testing, delivering accurate and unbiased analysis as a subject matter expert.
- Collaborate with sales enablement to create training, tools, presentations, and whitepapers.
- Establish competitive take-out approaches as part of standard sales plays with field teams.
- Create defensible analysis and proof points to position Rubrik solutions favorably.
- Manage data analysis and feedback to provide a quarterly view of the competitive landscape.
- Provide day-zero support to field teams on emerging features and competitive equivalents.
- Produce deep-dive documentation comparing product features and solutions against competitors.
- Work with product management and marketing to create demand generation collateral.
What We're Looking For
- 8-12 years of experience in Competitive Intelligence, Technical Product Marketing, Product Management, Engineering, or Sales Engineering.
- Hands-on experience implementing and managing data protection solutions like Veeam Backup & Recovery, DellEMC IDPA/DataProtect, Veritas NetBackup, and Commvault.
- Proven ability to develop technical presentations, whitepapers, product guides, and briefs.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing architectures and products for AWS, GCP, and Azure.
- Deep insight into real-world customer challenges in data protection and management.
- Ability to collaborate across groups and drive projects forward with a sense of urgency.
- Strong aptitude for analyzing competitor products, strategy, and messaging.
- Skill in translating technical features into business value to differentiate Rubrik's offerings.
