The E.W. Scripps Company is hiring an experienced Technical Operator III to be an essential part of our broadcast operations team. In this hands-on role, you will provide critical technical support ensuring the smooth operation of live broadcast control rooms and studios in Atlanta, GA.
What You'll Do
- Provide technical support for remote guests using various video conferencing platforms.
- Provide support in managing incoming signals from the field.
- Organize and ingest video from field crews and affiliates for editorial use.
- Act as the primary technical support for operations in the control room and studio for specified times.
- Work with network engineering and operations to ensure needs are met in the control room and studio.
What We're Looking For
- Must work well under the pressure of a live broadcast.
- Ability to make quick decisions and give accurate instructions.
- Ability to solve problems under pressure and apply hands-on knowledge.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues over the phone with remote guests.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Must understand the entire scope of needs in the studio and control room.
- Good knowledge of IT applications in relation to television broadcast equipment.
- Flexible work hours are required, including weekends, holidays, and possible overtime hours.
Nice to Have
- Associates degree in a related discipline or equivalent years of experience.
- Generally, 5+ years of experience in a related field.
- Specialized training or certification may be required.
