About the Role
Support the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of space-based systems through hands-on engineering and automation. Ensure operational continuity by diagnosing issues, implementing fixes, and improving system resilience.
Responsibilities
- Monitor health and performance of space system infrastructure
- Respond to anomalies and execute recovery procedures
- Develop automation tools for operational efficiency
- Support launch and on-orbit operations
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in real time
- Maintain detailed operational logs and incident reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams
- Implement configuration changes on flight systems
- Validate system updates through testing procedures
- Ensure compliance with mission safety standards
- Diagnose telemetry and command anomalies
- Support ground station operations
- Perform root cause analysis on system failures
- Develop and update operational runbooks
- Conduct pre-mission system checks
- Assist in integration of new payloads
- Maintain secure communication protocols
- Escalate critical issues to senior engineers
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations
- Optimize system performance based on operational data
- Support software and firmware updates
- Ensure redundancy systems are functional
- Track and report system KPIs
- Coordinate with external partners during joint operations
- Contribute to post-mission reviews
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in aerospace or systems engineering
- Experience with spacecraft mission operations
- Familiarity with ground station networks
- Knowledge of space environment effects on systems
- Experience with automated anomaly detection
- Background in defense or government space programs
- Security clearance or ability to obtain one
- Experience with real-time data processing
- Proficiency with satellite simulation tools
- Understanding of regulatory compliance for space systems
