ACCS is looking for a Technical Instructor to plan, organize, and instruct courses at varied times and locations based on student demand. You will teach day, evening, or weekend classes across multiple campuses or via distance learning.
What You'll Do
- Comply with all policies and guidelines from the Alabama Community College System, its Board of Trustees, and Central Alabama Community College.
- Develop and maintain course syllabi, competencies, assessments, and outlines.
- Plan, organize, and instruct all levels of courses.
- Track and record student attendance and collaborate with Student Services for accurate registration reporting.
- Advise students within their program to promote success, certification completion, and licensure pass rates.
- Collect Student Learning Outcome data for accreditation.
- Work with leadership to develop, monitor, analyze, and evaluate SLO data for program review and improvement.
- Collaborate on the recommendation of textbooks, instructional materials, and classroom or lab equipment.
- Collaborate on the recommendation and development of the instructional semester schedule.
- Collaborate on the recommendation and development of distance learning and web-based courses.
- Maintain appropriate office hours.
- Serve on divisional and institutional committees.
- Participate in professional development activities.
- Assist with departmental budget preparation and requisitions.
- Travel to all campuses, meetings, and educational offerings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of an Associate degree or equivalent from a regionally accredited college or institution.
- Three (3) years full-time experience as a practitioner in the field.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in English language.
- Ability to efficiently utilize technology.
Nice to Have
- Five (5) years full-time experience as a practitioner in the field.
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university, with at least 27 semester hours in the field or related field.
- Teaching experience.
Team & Environment
This position reports to a Divisional Chair or Dean.
Work Mode
This is an onsite role requiring travel to campus locations including Alexander City, AL, Childersburg, AL, Talladega, AL, Prattville, AL, and other sites.
