About the Role
Lead and mentor a team of backend engineers while contributing to the design and evolution of core product systems. Drive technical strategy, ensure code quality, and align engineering efforts with product goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of backend engineers through technical planning and execution
- Design scalable, maintainable backend systems for core product functionality
- Collaborate with product managers to define technical requirements
- Conduct code reviews to uphold engineering standards and best practices
- Mentor engineers in technical growth and career development
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in distributed systems
- Ensure system reliability, security, and observability
- Drive adoption of modern backend technologies and frameworks
- Coordinate cross-team dependencies for large-scale feature delivery
- Promote engineering best practices across the organization
- Evaluate and integrate third-party services and APIs
- Participate in incident response and on-call rotations
- Define and track key engineering metrics
- Contribute to architectural roadmaps and technical debt reduction
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience in AI-driven product environments
- Background in high-growth startups or scale-ups
- Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures
- Knowledge of machine learning infrastructure
