CPCD is hiring a Teacher Assistant

About the Role

CPCD is looking for a Teacher Assistant Floater to support our classroom teams in delivering high-quality early childhood education. You will help maintain safe, healthy, and enriching learning experiences that advance the whole child’s development, while traveling among classrooms and sites as needed.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist the classroom team in maintaining safe, healthy, and high-quality learning experiences and environments.
  • Comply with CPCD policies, Head Start Performance Standards, Colorado Department of Human Services licensing, and Colorado Quality Standards.
  • Facilitate a balance of group and individualized experiences to promote the development of school readiness skills.
  • Travel among classrooms and sites as directed by the CD Supervisor.

What We’re Looking For

  • Must have access to reliable transportation to perform job functions and travel to other locations, maintaining minimum liability insurance as determined by Colorado.
  • Must have a CDA or Early Childhood Professional Level II credential through Colorado’s PDIS, or plan to obtain within two years of hire.
  • Must obtain First Aid and CPR certification within 1 year of employment and maintain as required.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and manipulate up to 40 pounds.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment physical exam, TB test, drug test (including marijuana), and background check.

Nice to Have

  • At least one year of successful work experience with children birth to age five.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish or other language relevant to the community served).
  • PDIS Level II - DQ (Director Qualification).

Team & Environment

You will assist a classroom team and report directly to the CD Supervisor.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Pay scale: Step 1: $17.48 (High school diploma/equivalent & experience), Step 2: $19.18 (CDA/Level II), Step 3: $20.15 (DQ/Level 3), Step 4: $21.15 (DQ/Level 3 + 12 ECE credits), Step 5: $22.20 (Associate Degree in ECE/Related Field + 24 ECE credits)
