General Dynamics Mission Systems is hiring a Systems Safety Engineer to support our Autonomous Maritime Platforms Systems Engineering team. In this role, you will join a cross-functional group responsible for developing, implementing, and testing advanced autonomous systems. You will be crucial for establishing safety procedures and policies that meet our customer's critical requirements.
What You'll Do
- Take a leadership role in our mission, supporting a variety of platforms and customers.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety procedures and policies according to customer requirements.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and safety analyses for weapons systems and operations.
- Perform and participate in safety audits, test events, and evaluations to identify hazards and mitigations.
- Collaborate with engineering development teams and industry partners to design and implement safety systems and controls.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics field.
- 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.
- Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at the time of hire.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
Nice to Have
- Agile experience.
- Strong background in the Undersea Domain and Systems Engineering processes, concepts, and principles.
- Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices and tools proficiency.
- Proven communication skills and ability to interface with internal and customer leadership.
- Creative thinker with demonstrated success leading the systems development life cycle.
- Collaborative team player eager to provide technical leadership and position others for success.
- Detail-oriented project planning across multi-discipline teams.

- Compensation range: USD $112,924.00 - USD $125,275.00 /Yr.
