About the Role

MetroStar is looking for a Sr. Systems Engineer I (Linux) to join a collaborative, high-performing team delivering critical solutions for the highest levels of the federal government. You will operate in a highly cleared space, applying deep technical expertise to maintain and secure essential systems.

What You'll Do

  • Administer Linux-based systems (Ubuntu, RHEL), including file systems, networks, and user accounts.
  • Work in DevSecOps environments, preferably using GitLab, with containerization, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, AWX/Ansible, and Bash scripting.
  • Manage STIG compliance, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Replicate production-like environments to identify and resolve issues or stage upgrades for kernel and Linux components.
  • Develop troubleshooting guides, end-user documentation, and mentor team members.
  • Establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence with Active Directory knowledge and skills.
  • Creatively think out of the box to help with troubleshooting and support and provide innovative solutions that fit customers’ needs.

What We're Looking For

  • Active Top Secret clearance with current or previously held SCI access.
  • BA/BS degree in an IT-related field.
  • Certification meeting DoD 8140 DCWF Role 451 Systems Administrator requirements (e.g., Security+, CCNA Security, GSEC, or similar).
  • 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting projects of similar size, scope, and complexity.
