Dana TM4 is seeking a System Test Designer to provide comprehensive support for engineering, performance, and functional testing of complex integrated systems. You will be involved end-to-end, ensuring the accuracy, safety, and efficiency of tests conducted using dynamometer benches, thermal chambers, vibration tables, and other capabilities.
What You'll Do
- Review and approve test plans to ensure they meet standards for safety, feasibility, and objectives.
- Develop test procedures and prepare test sequences, such as scripts for automated testing.
- Assist assigned technicians in running test sequences and troubleshoot test environment issues, including equipment malfunctions.
- Provide expertise to product owners for investigating product-related problems, such as failures in electronics or mechanics.
- Maintain, improve, and ensure the functionality of the test bench, including ongoing upgrades and preventive maintenance.
- Supervise all test cell activities, overseeing safety and compliance while monitoring execution for proper performance.
- Review test data to verify success, analyzing outputs to confirm validity and completeness.
- Write and review test reports, documenting findings, insights, and recommendations clearly.
- Support program teams on failures by providing root cause analysis and resolution guidance.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (electrical or mechanical preferred but flexible for those with practical backgrounds).
- At least 5 years of experience testing complete embedded systems, with integrated hardware-software setups.
- Hands-on experience with complex mechatronic systems, including some of the following: High-voltage (HV) & low-voltage (LV) electronics, rotating machines (e.g., motors), magnetism, software, hydraulics, and thermodynamics.
- Familiarity with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, accelerometers, thermocouples & RTDs, flow meters, and pressure transducers.
- Proficiency in data acquisition software for scripting and automation with tools such as LabView and TestStand.
- Professional proficiency in both French and English.
- Strong communication skills to convey technical topics concisely and effectively.
- Autonomy, resourcefulness, and the ability to work independently and improvise solutions.
