Bombardier is hiring a Supply Chain Specialist (Supplier Strategy, After-Sales)

About the Role

At Bombardier, where we design, build, modify, and maintain the world's most performant aircraft, we are seeking a Supply Chain Specialist focused on supplier strategy and after-sales. This is a strategic role centered on contract negotiation and strategy development, not logistics or purchasing. You will develop sourcing strategies, lead negotiations, manage supplier relationships, and support business units with cost reduction initiatives.

What You'll Do

  • Develop new supply sources and establish strategic alliances.
  • Develop business negotiation strategies.
  • Lead and participate in commodity development by managing projects, including the preparation of business cases.
  • Lead, develop, and execute raw material strategy and provide senior management with project and negotiation status updates.
  • Identify, analyze, and execute cost reduction opportunities.
  • Create and maintain formal internal and external networks.
  • Act as the single point of interface with suppliers for new business.
  • Support sites and/or business units with appropriate procurement strategies.
  • Coordinate and lead negotiations for any claims with suppliers in support of production issues for business units.
  • Support business units in applying contractual remedies for material breaches.
  • Lead contract negotiations with suppliers.
  • Ensure contracts are maintained in accordance with our business requirements.
  • Coordinate the activities of procurement agents based on balanced scorecard objectives, master plans, and detailed plans.
  • Support procurement agents in their contract negotiations, commercial agreements and product changes, as well as contract modifications.
  • Participate in the governance of cost reduction initiatives and ensure projects are completed.
  • Actively participate in supplier program reviews led by business units.
  • Develop and coach team members on procurement initiatives and processes.
  • Support product managers in the performance development planning process.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • At least 8 years of direct experience in negotiation and contract writing within a large, complex manufacturing organization.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and project management experience.
  • Managed a contract portfolio with at least $10 million in annual spending.
  • Demonstrated experience with executive-level presentations, including business cases and strategic updates.
  • Rigor and attention to detail, with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • A recognized team player, leader, and innovator with the ability to mobilize a team.
  • Able to work in French and English (written and spoken) on a daily basis.
  • Strong operational and financial management skills.
  • Comfortable with complex technical topics and knowledge of legal terminology or contract interpretation.
  • Familiar with Just-In-Time purchasing logistics, integrated supply chain, and lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Proficient in MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Able to travel occasionally for work, based on business needs.
  • Able to work from one of our Montreal sites at least two days per week, sometimes more, according to applicable policy.

Nice to Have

  • More than 12 years of experience.
  • Experience in the aerospace industry and/or manufacturing environment and/or program management, in a commercial role.

Work Mode

This is a hybrid role based in Montréal, Canada. You will work from one of our Montreal sites at least two days per week, with flexibility for occasional business travel.
