Duke University seeks a Supply Chain Associate to lead the daily operational activities of the supply chain team at Duke Raleigh Hospital. In this leadership role, you will implement process improvements, build strong relationships, set performance expectations, and maintain team morale, all while applying your advanced inventory management knowledge with minimal supervision.
What You'll Do
- Perform all Supply Chain Associate job functions at an advanced level and serve as a mentor/preceptor.
- Exhibit exceptional leadership by working alongside team members and demonstrating best practices.
- Identify and implement department improvements in safety, process flows, shelf spacing, scheduling, FIFO rotations, cleaning, and metric analysis.
- Work closely with nursing floors and OR staff to perform all par maintenance functions and make adjustments as needed.
- Manage employee job functions and schedules to meet daily departmental demands.
- Plan and schedule work for stockroom, warehouse, or receiving/dock personnel.
- Direct assigned staff in attaining performance standards, evaluate performance, and provide input on personnel actions.
- Meet regularly with department personnel, supply chain leadership, and customers to resolve issues.
- Assist with performance reviews and provide corrective action when necessary.
- Coordinate with Procurement to address backorders, manage product conversions, and communicate status updates.
- Lead handling of incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring proper Goods Receipt entry and merchandise verification.
- Proactively inform management of unresolved supply or customer issues.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clinical staff to promote efficient patient care.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for supply chain functions.
- Review MRP orders to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Perform additional job functions as directed to ensure safe patient care practices.
What We're Looking For
- HS Diploma/G.E.D. is required.
Nice to Have
- Postsecondary education in logistics, supply chain, business, accounting, finance, or a related field.
Team & Environment
You will lead Supply Chain Associates (levels 1 & 2) in a team-oriented environment.

- This position is eligible for a $2500 Commitment Bonus.
