Imperial Supplies, a Grainger Company, is hiring a Supplier Manager to own strategic supplier relationships and the cost of goods sold for major product categories ranging from $50M to $100M in COGS. You will be responsible for leading vendor negotiations, driving performance discussions, and coordinating communication across internal stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Ensure Grainger has the best product assortment for customers at the best cost.
- Evaluate current national brand supplier cost positions and document supply recommendations.
- Collaborate with merchandising to develop and execute national brand product assortment and sourcing strategy.
- Establish and manage relationships with national brand suppliers globally.
- Conduct and finalize cost negotiations driven by product assortment strategy.
- Negotiate favorable terms and support for growing the business.
- Serve as the key single point of contact for suppliers to business partners at Grainger.
- Design a price/cost management strategy to provide competitive pricing, minimize cost inflation, drive sales growth, and improve return on invested capital.
- Manage and meet cost inflation targets across $25M - $50M in COGS.
- Lead efforts to improve supplier relationships and make it easier for suppliers to do business with Grainger.
- Collaborate with merchandising to bring new suppliers onboard.
- Leverage supplier relationships to meet end-to-end business needs, improving customer and team member experience.
- Coordinate supplier outreach efforts, such as trade data compliance processes.
- Work with Supply Chain partners to monitor supplier operational performance and take action to improve it.
- Ensure the team operates with the highest level of ethics and integrity in conjunction with Professional Purchasing Guidelines and the Company Code of Conduct.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in strategic supplier relationship management and negotiation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage cost of goods sold for a significant product portfolio.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate cost positions and develop sourcing recommendations.
- Experience collaborating with merchandising, supply chain, and other cross-functional partners.
- Ability to design and implement pricing and cost management strategies.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to serve as a key point of contact.

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation range: $95,200 - $130,900
