CHS Inc. is hiring a Supervisor, Production Operations to oversee daily production at our canola plant in Hallock, MN. You will drive safety, quality, and efficiency while leading and developing team members. This role is central to fostering continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with all procedures.
What You'll Do
- Drive accountability for excellence in process and personal safety and environmentally responsible production.
- Hold team members accountable for performance through Shift Supervisors.
- Facilitate Continuous Improvement by leading cross-functional teams on strategic objectives.
- Ensure company, customer, and regulatory procedures for safety, quality, production, and costs are carried out effectively.
- Train and develop new team members and lead skilled teams and crews.
- Supervise assigned employees, interpret specifications and instructions, assign priorities, and monitor work.
- Develop and post crew schedules to meet production needs and ensure reasonable individual operator schedules.
- Coordinate teams to work cooperatively between individuals, shifts, and departments.
- Facilitate the development and implementation of documented standard operating procedures.
- Monitor production and quality, anticipate and solve problems, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Participate in projects to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Maintain reports on key production variables like volume, yield, plant uptime, and utility consumption.
- Review operational data and initiate corrective adjustments to maintain product specifications.
- Ensure effective participation in the QA program, implement QA policies, complete required sampling and testing, and interpret results.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues and partner with the maintenance department to coordinate work.
- Cultivate a strong safety culture, follow all safety policies, and identify and correct workplace hazards.
What We're Looking For
- High School diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in operations within an agricultural processing or ag-related facility
Nice to Have
- Demonstrated leadership experience guiding, coaching, and supporting frontline employees in a production or ag-processing environment
- Working understanding of refinery assets, production line and capability
- Demonstrated ability to influence people within and across organizational lines
- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret and use data to make timely decisions
- Demonstrated effective use of computers for communication and data analysis
- Knowledge of products, product quality factors, and equipment capabilities
- Ability to work extended hours as needed to meet business demands
