PG&E is hiring a Strategic Analyst to provide strategic planning, analysis, and policy development for key programs and initiatives. In this high-impact role, you will influence company, regulatory, and industry priorities by integrating customer needs, business impacts, and the company's vision.
What You'll Do
- Undertake assignments of the highest complexity and impact to PG&E.
- Coach, mentor, and train others in strategy development and Lean tools.
- Evaluate and develop new analytic methods, tools, processes, and procedures.
- Solve unique and complex strategic issues and problems.
- Manage major cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- Work with all levels of leadership, up to and including EVP, to influence decisions.
- Anticipate issues and develop innovative solutions.
- Continually apply and guide others in understanding company goals and strategies.
- Collaborate and influence policy and program strategy at other utilities and regulatory agencies.
- Lead the development of testimony on complex analysis and policy issues.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, Finance, Sociology, Policy, Engineering, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 8 years of job-related experience.

- Ability to lead department-wide modeling and data initiatives of the highest complexity.
- Ability to present highly complex data and findings to diverse audiences including upper management and regulatory stakeholders.
- Ability to use business understanding to drive strategic decision-making and recommend operational improvements.
- Deep knowledge of business or industry drivers, regulatory policy, and policy strategy development.
- Ability to analyze business processes and recommend efficiency improvements.
- Ability to lead and implement key process improvements.
- Ability to integrate macro/micro economic factors and statistical analysis into decision-making.
Benefits & Compensation
- Eligibility to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
- Compensation Range: Bay Area Minimum: $140,000, Bay Area Maximum: $238,000.
Work Mode
This is a hybrid position based in Oakland, California.
