Loma Linda University Health is hiring a Sterilization Technician for a temporary assignment through 06/30/2026. This onsite role is central to our clinical operations, ensuring the safe processing of reusable dental instruments and maintaining a clean, efficient work environment in support of our mission to continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ.
What You'll Do
- Clean, sterilize, and deliver reusable dental instruments.
- Clean and monitor equipment within the department.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area.
- Become cross-trained in the laundry aspect of the department.
- Process sterilized items for departments and students.
- Perform other duties as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Able to keyboard 40 wpm.
- Able to read, write legibly, and speak in English with professional quality.
- Proficient with computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot basic office equipment.
- Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others.
- Work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction.
- Effective telephone communication, critical thinking, and ability to manage multiple assignments.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize workload, work well under pressure, and solve problems.
- Accurate recall of information, close attention to detail, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Able to distinguish colors as necessary.
- Sufficient hearing for general conversation and to identify workplace sounds.
- Adequate vision to read computer screens and written documents.
Nice to Have
- Minimum six months experience working in a dental or medical area.
- Knowledge of dental instruments and their maintenance.
- Central Service Sterilization Technician Certification.
