Kong is hiring a Staff Solutions Engineer to join our Sales organization. You will align with Account Executives to lead the technical sale cycle with new and existing enterprise and strategic customers. This role is central to demonstrating the value of Kong's API Management and Connectivity solutions.
What You'll Do
- Support field sales by helping customers understand the value of Kong's API Management & Connectivity solutions.
- Build and grow trusted client relationships across the entire sales lifecycle, from discovery and requirement gathering to product demonstrations and production rollout.
- Lead and manage proof-of-concept (PoC) engagements throughout the entire evaluation process.
- Collaborate with the Customer Success team to onboard new customers and identify revenue potential within existing accounts.
- Support and enable partners to drive customer success and positive outcomes.
- Coordinate with support, product, and engineering teams to prioritize customer needs and ensure satisfaction across your assigned accounts.
- Participate in creative lead generation, such as authoring blog posts, leading webinars, and contributing to industry events.
- Travel as required to support customer and business needs.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of industry experience in software and technology.
- 5+ years in a pre-sales Solution Engineering role or relevant experience at a SaaS, open-source, or enterprise software company.
- Proven experience working with middleware, API management, integration, open-source technology, and Kubernetes.
- A foundational understanding of API Management and integration, cloud computing trends, and open-source business models.
- Confident ability to present and lead technical discussions with C-level and Director-level executives, as well as Product Managers and Engineers.
- Enthusiasm for working in a high-profile, fast-paced startup culture.
