SmarterDx is hiring a Staff Software Engineer, Full Stack to advance the use of clinical AI by building user-facing products shared across multiple applications. This is a product-oriented, true full-stack role working 50% frontend and 50% backend.
What You'll Do
- Design, build and launch new multi-product features and improve the overall quality of SmarterDx’s apps
- Design, build and launch reusable frontend components that are fully featured, responsive, and accessible
- Collaborate across disciplines to understand our users and iterate on new ideas
- Protect patients’ privacy and security through secure coding practices
- Research and advocate for improved techniques, processes, and designs within the team
- Support SmarterDx’s apps in production
What We're Looking For
- 12+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on user-facing solutions
- 3+ years in a security-conscious environment
- Expertise in TypeScript, React, and Python
- Experience working on software that aids in decision-making through data visualization, analytics, or configurable workflows
- Extensive experience working with product managers to shape and define requirements into incremental deliverables
- Experience project managing a small team using a modern agile methodology
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Nice to Have
- Former startup founder, or have been the first engineering hire at a startup
- Experience designing and building information-dense user interfaces
- Experience in the health tech domain, particularly in clinical software
- Experience working with Kubernetes

- Base salary range: $230K to $270K + equity incentives
