Lead the evolution of a modern, data-driven platform as a Senior Software Engineer, where you'll take ownership of designing and delivering full-stack capabilities across React/Next.js frontends and Python backend services. You'll build scalable GraphQL APIs that power both internal tools and external partner integrations, ensuring robust performance and maintainability.
What You’ll Do
- Drive technical solutions from concept to production, managing CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and system stability across cloud environments.
- Design and implement advanced UI patterns and analytics workflows in close collaboration with product and design teams.
- Champion code quality through rigorous reviews, testing practices, and refactoring, while evaluating new technologies and methodologies.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through pairing, feedback, and technical guidance to elevate team-wide standards.
- Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting, and product teams to translate complex business needs into sound technical architectures.
- Advocate for secure, compliant systems with built-in attention to data integrity, access controls, and SOC 2 principles.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of full-stack development experience with strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript, particularly within React/Next.js and service-oriented backends.
- Firm grasp of software engineering fundamentals including clean code, design patterns, distributed systems, and API-first design.
- Proven track record building and maintaining GraphQL APIs and cloud-hosted services on AWS, using Docker and CI/CD tooling.
- Ability to lead architectural decisions and clearly communicate tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Curiosity about risk, data, and technology—especially how they intersect in real-world applications.
Preferred Background
- Experience integrating AI/ML models or working with LLM APIs in production systems.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures, data orchestration tools like Apache Airflow, or graph databases such as Neo4j.
- Knowledge of cyber risk domains including threat intelligence, vulnerability assessment, and security posture.
- Hands-on involvement with compliance frameworks like SOC 2 or ISO 27001.
- Prior work in regulated, data-intensive sectors such as insurtech, fintech, or early-stage startups.
Technology Environment
Our stack includes Python, TypeScript, React, Next.js, GraphQL, AWS, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Apache Airflow, and Neo4j—built with scalability, security, and long-term maintainability in mind.
