Webflow is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our Ecommerce team. In this role, you will contribute to the development of our next-generation Ecommerce platform, working across a robust ecosystem of tools and products to build a first-class customer experience.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers to plan and build product capabilities
- Communicate team priorities and strategy to engineering and cross-functional leadership
- Champion technical standards while balancing business strategies and requirements
- Build, document, and test production code that impacts all Webflow customers
- Participate in engineering activities including incident response, interviewing, and code review
- Lead projects that directly contribute to team and organizational deliverables
- Solve complex technical problems in a platform empowering hundreds of thousands of people
- Improve our planning, development, and deployment processes
- Tackle technical challenges on a collaborative, geographically distributed team
- Participate in engineering citizenship activities like authoring blogs and improving hiring
- Mentor, coach, and inspire a team of engineers of various levels
What We're Looking For
- A BS/BA degree or equivalent relevant experience
- 7+ years of experience shipping features and products with a focus on web frameworks
- Ability to build a mental model of a product and architecture by reading code and debugging
- Skill in debugging production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack
- Pride in taking ownership and driving projects to business impact
- Deep understanding of data design and modeling
- Familiarity with Node.js, React, TypeScript, framework development, and design systems
- Consistent communication of trade-offs throughout a project to meet technical and business needs
- Comfort working in an agile, safe-to-fail environment

- An innate interest in the Web Platform, Design Systems, and building enabling platforms
- Enjoy thinking through large technical problems and working through complexity on a distributed team
- A curious, growth-oriented mindset—actively building fluency in emerging technologies like AI
