PathAI is looking for a Staff Software Engineer, Backend to solve complex backend challenges and design scalable services and APIs. You will collaborate closely with machine learning, product, frontend, and infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end systems.
What You'll Do
- Solve complex backend challenges using high-quality code
- Design, build, maintain, and evolve scalable backend services and APIs
- Define and own the architecture of large components and platforms
- Collaborate closely with ML, product, frontend, and infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end systems
- Maintain excellence in testing, CI/CD, and code reviews
- Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, promoting best practices
- Contribute to software regulated as medical devices, ensuring quality and compliance
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 5+ years in backend development, including full lifecycle delivery
- Strong experience with FastAPI and/or the Django REST framework
- Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and system design
- Experience with cloud-native systems (AWS preferred), containerization, and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proficiency with CI/CD platforms (e.g., GitLab CI, Docker pipelines)
