General Motors LLC is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to drive and organize the team that creates processes, platforms, and tools for building, integrating, and delivering GM's software and services. You will serve as a Directly Responsible Individual on key initiatives and facilitate cross-functional communication and alignment.
What You'll Do
- Serve as Directly Responsible Individual on key initiatives.
- Provide support and guidance to engineering leaders and individual contributor team members.
- Organize and manage activities that cross-cut Software Delivery's individual departments.
- Help drive continual improvement of SDLC best practices, eliminating inefficiencies and improving quality.
- Facilitate cross-functional communication and alignment between Software Delivery and partner teams.
- Facilitate communication to the Software Delivery org.
- Help drive technical, organizational, and business decisions and strategy.
- Serve as trusted collaborator on strategic and tactical planning.
- Work closely with partner teams within GM to align and collaboratively achieve business and project goals.
What We're Looking For
- At least 20 years of software industry experience, preferably including technical hands-on work.
- Strong sense of responsibility and well-tuned organizational skills.
- Deep experience with a variety of software development team personas.
- Excellent organization, communication, and social skills.
- Proven track record of building alignment between cross-functional teams.

This role is part of the Software Delivery team within GM's Software & Services Engineering organization.
