About the Role
The Staff Mechanical Engineer will drive mechanical design from concept through production, working closely with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality, scalable hardware solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design efforts for new product development
- Develop detailed 3D models and engineering drawings
- Perform structural, thermal, and dynamic simulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system integration
- Support design for manufacturability and assembly
- Conduct design reviews and documentation
- Evaluate materials and manufacturing processes
- Oversee prototype builds and testing
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Manage engineering changes through product lifecycle
- Work with contract manufacturers on production scaling
- Apply DFMEA and other reliability methods
- Optimize designs for cost, weight, and performance
- Contribute to intellectual property development
