Federal Signal Corporation is looking for a Staff Internal Auditor to conduct all phases of internal audit engagements, including financial, operational, and SOX audits. You will help evaluate risks, use data analytics, and communicate findings to strengthen controls and improve business efficiency.
What You'll Do
- Execute all phases of Internal Audit engagements, including planning, field work, and reporting, and assist external auditors.
- Conduct interviews with all levels of management and prepare workpapers and analytics for financial, operational, and SOX audits.
- Analyze evidence, document processes, identify issues, develop recommendations, and compose summary reports.
- Communicate audit results via written reports and oral presentations to strengthen controls and mitigate risk.
- Assist in the performance and expansion of the Data Analytics Program for audit testing, business reviews, and fraud detection.
- Assist with identifying and evaluating the company’s risk areas and provide input to the annual audit plan.
- Ensure implementation of management solutions via follow-up audit work.
- Assist with SOX PMO tasks, including GRC Tool updates, utilization, and functionality.
- Update company-wide fraud and anti-corruption trainings with relevant data and coordinate their delivery.
- Represent Internal Audit on organizational project teams and maintain productive relationships across the company.
- Perform or assist in special projects and compliance initiatives, including fraud investigations and FCPA/T&E reviews.
- Travel domestically and internationally as necessary (10-20%).
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a business-oriented degree from an accredited college/university.
- Minimum one or more years of finance/auditing experience and/or relevant financial reporting experience.
- Applied working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and compliance with internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley/SOX.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, especially Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly effective interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all levels of management and staff.
- Skilled at functioning independently while coordinating several overlapping audit assignments.
- Demonstrates excellent time-management skills and consistently meets established deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to error-free output and high-quality work.
Nice to Have
- Certified Internal Auditor, CFE and/or CPA desired.
- Background in manufacturing-based industries.
- Understanding of COSO 2013.
- Data analysis application knowledge, such as IDEA.
- GRC or SOX software experience.
- Experience with electronic audit work paper technology.
- Foreign language skills.
