About the Role
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review journal entries, general ledger, and financial statements.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements.
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
- Prepare and file sales and use tax returns.
- Assist in the preparation of annual audit and tax returns.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process.
- Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist with ad-hoc projects and special requests as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Review and approve expense reports.
- Prepare and review payroll and related tax filings.
- Assist in the implementation of new accounting software or systems.
- Prepare and review intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management and stakeholders.
- Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements for external reporting.
- Review and approve invoices and payments.
- Assist in the preparation of financial projections and analysis.
- Maintain and update the chart of accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements for internal reporting.
- Review and approve purchase orders and invoices.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements for regulatory reporting.
- Maintain and update the general ledger.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements for tax reporting.
