As a Senior Technical Writer at vCluster Labs, you will architect the product's 'Golden Path' by building a world-class documentation experience. You will be a key contributor to user success by designing a scalable content strategy that guides users from open-source curiosity to enterprise mastery.
What You'll Do
- Own the documentation architecture and strategy, acting as the 'Product Manager' for docs to create a cohesive, intuitive, and high-impact documentation ecosystem.
- Implement industry-standard structures like the Diátaxis framework to bring order to complexity by separating conceptual guides, tutorials, how-tos, and reference material.
- Lead the consolidation of onboarding journeys from 6 different paths into a singular, high-velocity 'Golden Path' for a 'Wow' first cluster deployment experience.
- Partner closely with DevRel, Engineering, and Product to build feedback loops, documentation testing, and contribution guidelines for an internal knowledge base.
- Manage the lifecycle of versioned, open-source, and platform documentation with a 'value over volume' mentality.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years in Technical Writing or Developer Documentation.
- Deep, hands-on experience with Kubernetes environments and complex infrastructure (Networking, API Gateways, Bare Metal).
- Cognitive flexibility: willingness to abandon legacy documentation habits based on data-driven evidence of how modern developers consume information.
- Strategic thinking to anticipate friction points in the user journey and identify architectural challenges with innovative content solutions.
Nice to Have
- Background in using documentation analytics and user feedback loops to track metrics like 'Time to Hello World'.
- Experience bridging the gap between open-source community docs and commercial enterprise platforms.
- Thrive in environments with a modern docs-as-code stack, solving discovery problems through automation and AI-driven internal knowledge bases.
