vCluster Labs is hiring a Senior Technical Writer to architect the product's 'Golden Path' and be a key contributor to user success by building a documentation experience that scales as we define the Kubernetes virtualization category.
What You'll Do
- Own the ultimate outcome: a cohesive, intuitive, and high-impact documentation ecosystem, operating as the 'Product Manager' for our docs.
- Design a scalable content strategy that guides users from open-source curiosity to enterprise mastery.
- Implement industry-standard structures like the Diátaxis framework to bring order to complexity.
- Lead the consolidation of our onboarding journeys, transforming 6 different paths into a singular, high-velocity 'Golden Path'.
- Partner closely with DevRel, Engineering, and Product to build strong feedback loops and documentation testing.
- Establish contribution guidelines for the entire technical team to contribute to a state-of-the-art internal knowledge base.
- Manage the lifecycle of versioned, open-source, and platform documentation with a 'value over volume' mentality.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years in Technical Writing or Developer Documentation.
- Deep, hands-on experience with K8s environments and complex infrastructure like Networking, API Gateways, and Bare Metal.
- Cognitive flexibility: willing to abandon legacy documentation habits when presented with data-driven evidence.
- Strategic thinking: anticipate friction points in the user journey and identify complex architectural challenges with innovative content solutions.
Nice to Have
- Background in using documentation analytics and user feedback loops to track 'Time to Hello World' and overall organizational health.
- Experience bridging the gap between open-source community docs and commercial enterprise platforms.
- Thrive in environments that prefer a modern docs-as-code stack, solving discovery problems through automation and AI-driven internal knowledge bases.
