Shape the future of travel experiences by joining a team dedicated to empowering trip organizers through smart, scalable technology. As a Sr. Product Engineer on the Trips Team, you’ll take ownership of end-to-end development—from concept to production—ensuring systems are robust, maintainable, and aligned with real user needs.
What You’ll Do
- Lead full-cycle feature development, starting with user insights and extending through architecture, implementation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Collaborate with product partners to define solutions that enhance the experience for both organizers and travelers.
- Design and maintain distributed systems built for scale, using event-driven patterns and microservices.
- Write clean, efficient back-end code primarily in Ruby on Rails, with occasional contributions in React or React Native.
- Support system reliability through proactive monitoring, incident response, and resilient design.
- Guide and grow fellow engineers through mentorship and active participation in technical decision-making.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 7 years of software engineering experience, with a focus on back-end systems and a strong sense of product ownership.
- Proficiency in Ruby on Rails or equivalent frameworks (Python, Go, Java, Kotlin, Node.js, .NET), with willingness to transition to Rails if needed.
- Proven experience building scalable distributed systems and working with production environments, including on-call responsibilities.
- Experience with front-end technologies and delivering cohesive user experiences.
- Familiarity with AI-powered development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude Code.
- Strong communication skills and a track record of thriving in multicultural, distributed teams.
- Leadership experience mentoring engineers and driving technical projects forward.
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, and React/React Native.
- Recent work on AI-driven or agentic applications.
- Background in catalog systems, content management platforms, or consumer behavior analytics integrations.
