APAC Mississippi, Inc., a CRH company, is looking for a Sr. Process Engineer to play a key role in analyzing and optimizing our cement production processes. Your work will directly support the plant's goal of producing quality-controlled cement in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
What You'll Do
- Analyze the cement production process and implement changes for optimal operating conditions focusing on fuel efficiency, electrical efficiency, and production rate.
- Participate in training control room operators on the proper use of plant equipment.
- Work closely with shift process teams to ensure mills and pyro lines are consistently operated at peak efficiency.
- Perform programming, maintenance, documentation, and improvements for the plant’s programmable control systems and other computerized process systems.
- Conduct performance testing and measurements on production equipment.
- Maintain performance records, including wear part life history.
- Provide technical support to the Production Department to maximize plant production.
- Optimize processes through testing, data gathering, sampling, and in-house expertise to enable continual improvement.
- Mentor Process Engineers and foster their growth and development.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising product quality or safety.
- Provide support to the Process, Energy, and Alternative Fuels (AF)/ Alternative Raw Materials (ARM) Task Forces.
- Assume project management or other roles as required for specific plant improvement projects.
- Deliver written and oral presentations to all levels of the organization.
- Partner with Project Management teams to ensure timely and on-budget execution of process improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in the chemical or mechanical engineering field.
- 5 years of experience working with pyro processing, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, chemistry, physics, and mathematics.
- 5 years of experience using Cement Kiln, Finish Mill Auditing, and optimization techniques.
- 5 years of experience with mechanical and electrical technology and equipment.
- 5 years of experience using PLC systems and instrumentation techniques and guidelines.
- 5 years of experience performing statistical correlation between quality and process.
- 5 years of experience working with alternative fuels and alternative raw materials.
- 5 years of experience working on carbon dioxide footprint reduction alternatives.
