As a Sr. Principal Electrical Integration Engineer, you will lead the full lifecycle design and integration of electrical systems for advanced data center and industrial environments. Your work will span from utility and generator interfaces through medium- and high-voltage distribution to final AI rack integration zones, ensuring robust, efficient, and compliant power delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and validation of UPS systems, power conversion units, and safety-critical interlocks for high-density computing environments
- Create and maintain single-line and three-line diagrams, ensuring alignment with NEC, IEEE, and UL standards
- Engineer three-phase power systems with attention to load balancing, fault protection, and redundant architectures
- Design and integrate MV/HV components including switchgear, transformers, busways, and protective relays
- Specify and qualify electrical hardware such as circuit breakers, contactors, CTs/PTs, and surge protection devices
- Develop wiring harnesses and define fabrication processes for panels, cable routing, and system integration
- Perform electrical load calculations, short-circuit analysis, arc flash studies, and thermal modeling using tools like ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or EasyPower
- Define grounding strategies, EMI shielding, and thermal management across facility-scale systems
- Develop electrical controls architecture using PLCs and SCADA systems, integrating protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, and SNMP
- Collaborate with software and automation teams to ensure seamless control system integration
- Lead design reviews, risk assessments, and validation testing to meet UL, IEC, CE, RoHS, and REACH requirements
- Support prototype builds, field deployments, and customer engagements to refine system performance
- Maintain engineering documentation including BOMs, test procedures, and change orders
- Mentor junior engineers and lead technical decision-making across cross-functional teams
- Drive improvements in cost, manufacturability, and scalability through design innovation
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with over 10 years of experience in electrical design for data centers or industrial power systems. Proficiency in ECAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or SolidWorks Electrical is required, along with experience in MV/HV distribution, lithium-ion UPS systems, and three-phase infrastructure. Familiarity with electrical analysis software and strong knowledge of global compliance standards are essential.
Preferred qualifications include a Master’s in Electrical Engineering, an active Professional Engineer license, hands-on panel fabrication experience, and working knowledge of WindChill and DevOps. Experience with global suppliers and contract manufacturers is a plus.
Work Environment
This role is remote with access to a global network of engineering sites and occasional travel (up to 20%) for project needs. You will work within a collaborative, globally distributed team focused on sustainable, innovative infrastructure solutions.
