The Sr. Manager, PPMO will lead a team of emerging project managers, drive cross-functional initiatives in product development and process improvements, and ensure successful delivery of strategic business objectives at CareDx, Inc. This role reports to the VP, Head of Project and Portfolio Management and plays a key role in enterprise-wide transformations, resource planning, and executive-level communication.
What You'll Do
- Direct a team of emerging project managers with a focus on talent development and strategic resource planning
- Partner with functional leads and FP&A to forecast talent requirements and optimize resource allocations
- Lead enterprise-wide transformations, including large-scale procurement programs and comprehensive process and technology migrations
- Serve as a strategic leader, distilling complex program health data into actionable insights and navigating organizational roadblocks to maintain momentum
- Engineer and implement a scalable program structure to manage complex project interdependencies in alignment with corporate strategy
- Proactively engineer risk mitigation strategies, identifying systemic threats early and implementing contingency plans
- Partner with project leads to accelerate delivery and successful completion of key business objectives
- Facilitate high-impact project team meetings with defined strategic agendas and post meeting governance
- Manage completion of design control documentation, ensuring compliance and technical integrity
- Utilize data to track project health against performance baseline and SMART metrics and deliver measurable ROI
- Facilitate and lead critical design reviews and phase gate reviews to ensure quality standards and organizational readiness
- Modernize project governance by streamlining meeting cadences, agendas, and action-item tracking
- Synthesize complex data into crisp, high-level presentations and communications for stakeholders and the executive leadership team
- Act as the primary conduit for communication and decision-making across diverse departments
- Provide regular updates and ensure alignment on timeline, budget, and scope across the core team, stakeholders, and executive leadership team
- Manage internal relationships between cross functional team members and stakeholders, as well as external relationships with third party vendors, collaborators, and partners
What We're Looking For
- BA/BS/MS in life sciences or related field with a technical discipline
- 7-10 years of relevant work experience in diagnostics/medical device/biotech
- Strong understanding of design control requirements and product development life cycle
- Experience in regulated environments (e.g., FDA, CLIA, ISO 13485, CE/IVDR); global experience a plus
- Experience producing Gantt charts, creating project dashboards, and utilizing project management tools
- Comfortable interacting with leaders at all levels and influencing without authority
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, organizational skills, and attention to details
- Excellent leadership, conflict resolution and oral/written communication skills
- Program leadership and/or management experience, within a matrix organization
- Ability to adapt and respond quickly to changes in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Strategic analysis skill set with ability to translate opportunities into holistic action plans
