Wealthsimple is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Science to lead our initiatives in Finance & Market Risk. In this senior leadership role, you will be responsible for building and guiding a team tasked with developing innovative, data-driven solutions for financial risk management.
What You'll Do
- Build and lead a data science team focused on Finance & Market Risk.
- Develop and implement data-driven models and solutions for risk management.
- Establish best practices, standards, and strategic direction for the data science function within the risk domain.
- Partner with finance, risk, and product teams to align data initiatives with business objectives.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in a senior data science leadership role, preferably within finance or fintech.
- Strong background in developing models and analytics for financial risk management (market risk, credit risk, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and lead high-performing data science teams.
- Expert knowledge of statistical modeling, machine learning, and data analysis techniques.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
