BioMarin is hiring a Sr. Director, Global Sourcing and Procurement (GSP) Enablement - Strategy & Operations to lead procurement operations within the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry. In this role, you will focus on building and evolving critical capabilities for the GSP team, acting as a strategic partner and key point of contact for compliance and systems implementation.
What You'll Do
- Partner with the CPO and leadership team to build or evolve capabilities including Analytics/Market Intelligence, Category Management, Supplier Relationship Management, and Digital/AI Enablement.
- Collaborate with the internal GSP team and stakeholders like Accounting, Finance, and Legal to execute the Source to Pay roadmap and implement associated systems.
- Act as the GSP point of contact for SOX compliance, Spend Management Compliance, Contract Compliance, and other functions through effective Governance.
- Manage a diverse team of 2-4 direct reports, inspiring followership and influencing peers.
- Execute strategic stakeholder engagement to develop scalable, fit-for-purpose capabilities.
- Provide thought leadership by networking with industry peers and suppliers to understand trends and benchmarks.
- Execute program planning linked to corporate and functional priorities.
- Develop effective stakeholder communications and associated change management plans.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 12+ years of extensive experience in Sourcing, Procurement Operations/Systems, and Consulting, preferably within the pharma/biotech/life sciences sector.
- Knowledge of Procurement tools; specific expertise in Ariba/SAP and a CLM environment is required.
- Experience with optimizing tail spend.
- In-depth understanding of the external environment and supplier relationship models.
- Strong knowledge of finance (cost benchmark, financial audit) and legal matters (contracting).
- Significant experience working in a matrix (global/regional) business environment.
- Strong networking skills and a proven ability to build productive, collaborative relationships.
- Strong analytical, written and verbal communication, and influencing skills.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment, often under tight deadlines.

Team & Environment
You will manage a diverse team of 2-4 direct reports and partner closely with the CPO and leadership team, including Sourcing Heads and the Operational Excellence Head. This role reports directly to the Chief Procurement Officer.
Work Mode
This is an onsite role based at various BioMarin sites and supplier locations.
