What You'll Do
Support the overall operation and management of facilities or campus environments, stepping in when necessary to lead building staff and execute managerial responsibilities. Oversee daily functions including janitorial services, life-safety systems, engineering operations, site maintenance, and general repairs.
Manage vendor contracts by reviewing terms, ensuring pricing accuracy on invoices, and coordinating bid renewals. Supervise maintenance programs for both interior and exterior property conditions, conducting regular inspections to identify issues and report findings promptly.
Respond to occupant requests related to building upkeep, cleaning, and repairs. Prepare financial documentation such as budgets, monthly and quarterly reports, purchase orders, and expenditure tracking. Assist in developing capital budgets and long-range plans focused on facility improvements, maintenance scheduling, and cost-saving strategies.
Collect and analyze operational data to produce accurate reports that reflect facility performance and progress toward objectives. Ensure full compliance with management and vendor agreements, including insurance requirements, and coordinate claims processing as needed.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in facilities management, construction, business, or a related field
- At least 3 years of relevant experience, ideally within commercial or industrial real estate
- Ability to interpret construction documents, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Familiarity with contract language and management agreements
- Experience with Building Management Systems for monitoring and maintenance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and expenditure tracking
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- One year of supervisory experience
- Background in maintenance, construction, engineering, or building operations
- Experience with CMMS or Work Order Management systems
- Professional certifications such as CFM, IFMA, or BOMA
- Additional technical, engineering, or business training
- Familiarity with financial platforms like Yardi
