Quistor is hiring a Senior SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance SQL Server databases. In this remote role, you will ensure optimal performance and availability, handle replication and CDC, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

What You'll Do

Design, implement, and maintain high-performance SQL Server databases, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and reliability.
Perform in-depth performance tuning and optimization, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, slow queries, and other related issues.
Analyze wait events and proactively address performance challenges to ensure smooth database operations.
Oversee and manage database replication strategies, including setup, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Implement and manage Change Data Capture (CDC) processes to enable real-time data integration.
Monitor database health using various tools, set up alerting mechanisms, and respond to incidents promptly.
Participate in an on-call rotation (approximately 1 week per quarter) and respond to critical database issues.
Work closely with cross-functional and cloud teams to plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and patching.
Document database configurations, processes, and best practices for internal knowledge resources.
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices in SQL Server database administration.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator.
Expertise in analyzing and mitigating wait events, bottlenecks, and resource contention.
Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing database replication and CDC solutions.
In-depth knowledge of SQL Server high availability and disaster recovery mechanisms.
Strong proficiency in performance tuning, query optimization, and resolving database-related performance issues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude.
Willingness to further grow on Azure technologies is a must.
Ability to communicate well in English.

Nice to Have

Experience with other database systems (Oracle, MySQL, DB2, PostgreSQL) and cloud platforms.
Azure knowledge.
Dutch language skills.
