RE/SPEC Inc. is looking for a SQL Server Database Administrator to own the maintenance, enhancement, and development of a long-lifespan, stored-procedure–centric application. You will ensure performant and reliable data operations through query tuning, stored procedure development, SSRS reporting, and robust database design, translating complex client requirements into actionable technical tasks.
What You'll Do

- Perform query tuning, indexing, and performance diagnostics for a large and complex database.
- Design, develop, maintain and deploy SSRS reports, ensuring high standards for data accuracy and presentation to non-technical clients.
- Partner with the client and other RESPEC consultants to elicit business requirements and transform them into database design.
- Work tickets triaged by a help desk; manage priorities and communicate status and risks clearly.
- Contribute to database design patterns for new or enhanced modules, looking for opportunities to evolve or leverage the system's existing architecture.
- Document changes, follow proper change management processes, and uphold best practices for multi-environment migrations.
What We're Looking For

- Proven expertise in query tuning and performance optimization for large, complex databases (e.g., execution plan analysis, indexing strategies).
- Experience in the full SSRS development lifecycle, from query design to report deployment.
- Strong consulting orientation with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical team members and non-technical clients and stakeholders.
- A seasoned professional capable of navigating a large codebase and dealing with a steep learning curve.
- Willingness and ability to work in the office in Albuquerque, NM or Richardson, TX at least three days a week.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with or exposure to .NET or .NET Framework and frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) or frameworks (Angular).
