AngloGold Ashanti North America Inc. is seeking a Specialist: Spatial Data Technology to lead and govern our enterprise GIS capability while advancing innovative Virtual Reality applications. In this role, you will drive the development, governance, and optimization of spatial data systems across the business, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic value.
What You'll Do
- Own and govern enterprise GIS platforms, including the Esri suite
- Establish spatial data standards, frameworks, and best practices
- Provide GIS expertise and support for cross-functional initiatives
- Integrate diverse geospatial data sources such as GIS, CAD, LiDAR, and drone imagery
- Support and enhance Virtual Reality (VR) environments and immersive experiences
- Manage vendor relationships and provide budget oversight
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, GIS, Geology, Mine Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of geospatial experience with advanced Esri GIS expertise
- Project management experience delivering spatial solutions
- Proficiency in Python for automation, geospatial analysis, and database management
- Advanced expertise in the Esri GIS Enterprise suite
- Strong understanding of spatial data governance, standards, and compliance
- Knowledge of integrating GIS, CAD, photogrammetry, drone imagery, and LiDAR
Nice to Have
- Experience in the mining industry
- Familiarity with FME and immersive technologies
