What You'll Do
Work closely with senior foresters, ecologists, and GIS specialists to deliver science-based solutions for forest and land management. You'll lead analytical components of projects including forest estate modeling, carbon accounting, and ecosystem assessments, using a range of industry-standard tools and workflows.
Perform spatial analysis using ArcGIS, POSTGIS, and PostgreSQL to interpret land use patterns and forest inventory data. Apply statistical methods in R and Python to analyze ecological trends and support decision-making. Use growth and yield models like FPS, FVS, and TIPSY to project forest development over time, and apply carbon modeling platforms such as GCBM and CBM to quantify carbon stocks and fluxes.
Contribute to technical reporting for clients, government agencies, and Indigenous communities, ensuring clarity and accuracy. Support proposal development and project planning, helping to define scope, timelines, and deliverables. Maintain rigorous documentation practices in line with quality assurance standards, and guide junior analysts in improving workflows and analytical techniques.
