Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company, is seeking an EHS Staff Specialist to join our team in North Chicago, IL. Reporting to the EHS manager, you will provide expert guidance on personnel EHS matters and be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of specific environment, health, and safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance and alignment with our EHS Management System.
What You'll Do
- Assist in developing and implementing strategic programs, plans, policies, and procedures to protect personnel, facilities, and the environment.
- Interpret, communicate, and implement programs to ensure compliance with EHS regulations, corporate standards, and OHSAS 18001.
- Implement EHS initiatives including hazard identification, risk assessment, high hazard controls (Lockout Tagout, confined space, fall protection), ergonomic analysis, contractor management, and emergency preparedness.
- Conduct injury investigations to determine root cause and analyze performance indicators to drive corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver EHS training on topics like hazard communication, contractor safety, and emergency response.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma plus 10 years of EHS experience, OR Associate Degree and Advanced Safety Specialist Certification plus 8 years of experience, OR Bachelor’s Degree (EHS, Engineering, chemistry) plus 3 years of EHS experience.
- Proven experience implementing EHS regulations, conducting incident investigations, interacting with regulatory agencies, and managing cross-functional teams.
- Background working within a regulatory environment.
- Ability to develop practical standards and policies that meet business objectives, with technical expertise in EHS functions, technical writing, and business communications.
Nice to Have
- Professional EHS or Engineering certification.
