Responsibilities
- Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and reliability across production and non-production database systems.
- Design, manage, and optimize environments including DynamoDB, AWS RDS (PostgreSQL), Aurora, and Amazon OpenSearch.
- Develop and automate strategies for backups, restores, high availability, and disaster recovery.
- Lead root cause analysis and resolution of database incidents, and participate in post-incident reviews.
- Collaborate with Platform Engineering and Site Reliability Engineering teams to establish database lifecycle standards.
- Support secure, self-service data platform access for application development teams.
- Conduct performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning for database systems.
- Establish comprehensive observability using metrics, logging, and alerting frameworks.
- Automate database provisioning and operational tasks using Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Maintain compliance with data governance, regulatory, and security policies.
