About the Role

Educational Service District 112 is looking for a Special Education Paraeducator to join a team dedicated to supporting students with disabilities. In this role, you will provide essential assistance in various school settings under the direction of a Special Education Teacher, helping to implement individualized education plans and foster a positive learning environment.

What You'll Do

  • Assist the Special Education Teacher with lesson plan preparation, one-on-one and small group instruction, classroom management, student observation and assessment, and communication.
  • Supervise students and provide positive behavior management support consistent with IEP or IFSP goals.
  • Collect data, report on student progress, and maintain accurate records.
  • Attend to the physical needs of students, including moving and positioning students and assisting with personal hygiene.
  • Participate in staff meetings, inservice programs, workshops, and seminars.
  • Participate as a member of the education team and may attend parent conferences.
  • Communicate with staff and parents as instructed by the Special Education Teacher.

What We're Looking For

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • You must meet one of the following: An Associate's Degree, 48 semester/72 quarter credits from an accredited college/university, a passing score of 455 on the ParaPro Assessment, a passing score of 220 on the Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment, or a score of 65% on The Master Teacher, Inc. Paraeducator Online Training Program.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a special education classroom setting.
  • Knowledge of programs and services for students with disabilities.

Team & Environment

You will report directly to the Special Education Teacher and work collaboratively as part of an educational support team.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Hourly pay range: $21.27 - $26.31.

Work Mode

This is an onsite position located in the Green Mountain School District, WA.
