Epiroc is looking for a Sourcing Engineer to establish and develop a quality-focused, cost-effective supplier system for our Nanjing factory. You will serve the supply chain and product development teams by building and continuously improving this system to achieve higher quality, shorter lead times, better delivery performance, and lower costs.
What You'll Do
- Identify and select qualified suppliers for project support.
- Negotiate competitive total cost of ownership for all materials with suppliers.
- Collaborate with the quality team to set and implement quality improvement goals and plans for new suppliers.
- Work closely with R&D and design teams to coordinate communication with existing suppliers, ensuring they understand and respond quickly to requirements for lead time, technical specifications, and quality.
- Take full ownership of the process from initial sample ordering through to full verification and qualification.
- Manage acceptable supplier lead times to support project timelines.
- Drive a smooth transition from initial samples to mass production.
- Strictly adhere to all safety regulations and operating procedures.
- Drive the "Supplier Introduction and Elimination" process with all relevant stakeholders.
- Organize evaluation plans for all local suppliers according to TSQP standards and track and improve supplier quality continuously.
- Take full responsibility for supplier quality and support SQE in resolving supplier quality issues.
- Conduct periodic price negotiations (1-2 times per year) with all local suppliers to continuously reduce part costs.
- Drive continuous cost reduction through localization and supply chain optimization.
- Negotiate with all local suppliers to achieve lead time targets.
- Negotiate with all local suppliers to achieve payment terms targets.
- Manage supplier On-Time Delivery performance against targets and drive improvements.
- Improve communication and develop relationships with suppliers based on an open, ethical, and friendly partnership.
- Manage supply agreements and all related annexes, ensuring they are signed and filed correctly and on time.
- Ensure accuracy of all commercial master data in the system (price, lead time, MOQ, etc.).
- Support production by ensuring timely delivery of all new parts to meet production schedule requirements.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related STEM field.
- A minimum of 3 years of sourcing or procurement experience.
- Proven negotiation skills and supplier evaluation capabilities.
- Organized, proactive, self-motivated, and willing to learn new skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Highly developed organizational skills, including prioritization, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and meeting deadlines.
