Stage 3 is hiring a Solids Control Field Technician to oversee mechanical processes that enhance drilling operations and recycle drilling fluid. You will work rotational 12-hour shifts on drilling rig sites or environmental projects across Canada, operating and maintaining specialized equipment.
What You'll Do
- Ensure all equipment and systems are operated to company standards and policies.
- Maintain and operate solids control equipment such as centrifuges, trough & sizer, shakers, and pumps.
- Operate all equipment and systems in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform routine maintenance on mechanical equipment as required.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment failures.
- Operate, monitor, and control process levels, mud weights, pressures, and flows for applicable processes.
- Ensure all required documentation and data is collected timely and accurately.
- Collect and validate critical data to complete daily reports.
- Attend and participate in safety meetings.
- Apply safe work practices, identify and report unsafe conditions, and eliminate safety hazards.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Set up and tear down equipment on rig site locations.
- Operate heavy equipment such as front loaders, forklifts, and excavators to move drilled cuttings or load trucks.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Previous field experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
- Willingness to travel to remote locations across Canada.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions including extreme heat or cold.
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office and other computer systems.
- Strong team player with ability to work independently.
- Effective organizational skills.
- Must be able to lift 55 pounds, walk up and down stairs/ladders frequently, stand for extended periods, and work in tight spaces.
Nice to Have
- Dewatering and solids control experience.
- Heavy Equipment certification (excavator, forklift).
- Active certifications from Energy Safety Canada: H2S Alive, Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry.
