Solana Foundation is hiring a Solana Program Engineer

About the Role

The Solana Foundation is expanding its open application for Solana Program Engineers. This is an opportunity to express interest in joining high-impact teams across the Solana ecosystem. Selected candidates will be matched with ecosystem teams or the Foundation's internal contributors based on their skills and interests, focusing on building the next generation of DeFi protocols, core infrastructure, and on-chain applications.

What You'll Do

  • Build high-performance production-grade Solana programs in Rust (Anchor or Native)
  • Take ideas from 0→1 and iterate quickly with real users
  • Reason about technical trade-offs and system design under constraints
  • Contribute to open source and improve developer tools
  • Work in fast-paced, independent, and impact-driven startup-like environments

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience building and shipping Solana programs
  • Strong familiarity with Solana’s runtime (SVM), SPL tokens, PDAs, and Anchor
  • Hands-on experience building or contributing to DeFi protocols
  • Understanding of state compression, account metering, and program optimization

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with Solana-native DeFi protocols like OpenBook, Jupiter, MarginFi, Orca, or Meteora
